The most important thing when engaging students in any role in school is to acknowledge their first duty: Learning. Their learning is paramount to being meaningfully involved throughout schools. Learning through meaningful student involvement should include: stated learning goals, meaningful action, and sustained, deep reflection.

• Students as Facilitators. Knowledge comes from study, experience, and reflection. Engaging students as learning guides and facilitators helps reinforce their commitment to learning and the subject they are teaching; it can also engage both young and older learners in exciting ways.
• Students as Researchers. Identifying issues, surveying interests, analyzing findings, and developing projects in response are all powerful avenues for Student Voice.
• Students as Planners. Planning includes program design, event planning, curriculum development, and hiring staff. Students planning activities can lend validity, creativity, and applicability to abstract concepts and broad outcomes.
• Students as Organizers. Community organizing happens when leaders bring together everyone in a community in a role that fosters social change. Students community organizers focus on issues that affect themselves and their communities; they rally their peers, families, and community members for action.
• Students as Advocates. When students stand for their beliefs and understand the impact of their voices, they can represent their families and communities with pride, courage, and ability.
• Students as Evaluators. Assessing and evaluating the effects of programs, classes, activities, and projects can promote Student Voice in powerful ways. Students can learn that their opinions are important, and their experiences are valid indicators of success.
• Students as Experts. Envisioning roles for students to teach students is relatively easy; seeing new roles for students to teach adults is more challenging. Students specialists bring expert knowledge about particular subjects to programs and organizations, enriching everyone’s ability to be more effective.
• Students as Advisors. When students advise adults they provide genuine knowledge, wisdom, and ideas to each other, adults, schools, and education agencies, and other locations and activities that affect them and their world at large.
• Students as Designers. Students participate in creating intentional, strategic plans for an array of activities, including curriculum, building construction, students and community programs, and more.
• Students as Teachers. Facilitating learning for themselves, other students and educators, other adults in schools, or adults throughout our schools can be teachers of small and large groups in all kinds of topics. 
• Students as Grant-makers. Students can identify funding, distribute grants, evaluate effectiveness, and conduct other parts of the process involved in grant-making.
• Students as Lobbyists. Influencing policy-makers, legislators, politicians, and the people who work for them are among the activities for students as lobbyists.
• Students as Trainers. When they train adults, students, children, and others, youth can share their wisdom, ideas, knowledge, attitudes, actions, and processes in order to guide programs, nurture organization and community cultures, and change the world.
• Students as Politicians. Running for political office at the community, city, county, or state levels, students can be politicians in a variety of positions. In some places, they can run for school boards or as education trustees too.
• Students as Recruiters. Students building excitement, sharing motivation, or otherwise helping their peers and other people to get involved, create change, or make all sorts of things happen throughout schools and the entire education system.
• Students as Social entrepreneurs. When students recognize a social problem, they can use entrepreneurial principles to organize, create, and manage a venture to make schools and their communities change.
• Students as Paid staff. When schools hire students, they can be staff members in schools and throughout the education system. They can fulfill many roles on this list in paid positions.
• Students as Mentors. Mentoring is a non-hierarchical relationship between students and adults, adults and students, or among students themselves, that helps facilitate learning and guidance for each participant.
• Students as Decision-Makers. Making rules in classrooms is not the only way to engage students in decision-making. Participating in formal and informal decision-making, students can be school board members, education committee members, and in many different roles throughout schools.
• Students as Activity Leaders. As activity leaders in schools and education agencies, students can facilitate, teach, guide, direct, and otherwise lead youth, adults, and children in a variety of ways.
• Students as Policy-Makers. When they research, plan, write, and evaluate education rules, regulations, laws, and other policies, students as policy-makers can enrich, substantiate, enliven, and impact the outcomes of policies and schools in many ways.

An educated person has more chances of landing up a good high paying job. Everybody wants a good life but the good life!. It may be called as the “root of all evil” but most people will agree that money is important for survival in today’s world. The more educated you are, the better career options you have!

3. Equality

If we want to see the world as a just and fair place where everyone is given equal opportunities, education is what we require. Education is a must if we want to do away with the existing differences between different social classes and genders.  It opens a whole world of opportunities for the poor so that they may have an equal shot at well paying jobs. Education also plays a major role in women empowerment

4. Makes you self dependent

Education is very important if you want to be a self dependent person. It helps you become financially independent but that is not all.  Education also makes you wiser so that you can make your own decisions

What is your dream, your aim in life? Do you want to become rich?  Do you want to be popular? Do you want to be an extremely successful person who is respected by people? Well, the key to all this is education. Of course there are exceptions, like sportsmen who don’t really owe their success to their education. Education majorly affects our understanding of the difference between right and wrong. An educated person is well aware of the consequences of wrong/illegal actions and he is less likely to get influenced and do something which is not legally/morally right. Also, a  number of uneducated people who live a poverty stricken life owning to lack of opportunities often turn to illegal ways such as theft and robbery to solve their problems. If you are educated, you are well aware of your rights, the law and your responsibilities towards the society. Hence, education is an important factor which contributes in social harmony and peace.

Your educational degree is considered as a proof of your knowledge by many. If you are educated you have more chances of being heard and taken seriously. Generally, an uneducated man will find it harder to express his views and opinions owning to lack of confidence. Even if he does so, people may not take him seriously. We all live in a society which has its own set spoken/unspoken rules and one of them is education. The society expects you to go to school followed by college, get a job, settle down etc. In fact education helps you become a useful member of the society. An educated member certainly has a greater chance to contribute to his community. Education helps you become an active member of the society and participate in the ongoing changes and developments.

Australia, USA and Japan are few countries with very high literacy rates. These countries are extremely prosperous and the citizens have a high per capita income.  On the other hand, in underdeveloped and developing nations, where literacy rate is not as high, a number of people are still living below the poverty line. Education is vital for the economic prosperity of a nation!

10. Saves you from being fooled/cheated

Education saves you from being exploited and fooled. We live in a country where we enjoy a number of rights and freedom.  It is easier to take advantage of innocent and illiterate people. They may be trapped into signing false documents or be deprived of some right which they have because unlike an educated person they are not well aware of their rights and freedoms.

10 Reasons Studying at Home is Better than in College

For those of you new students just starting out in college like myself here are a few reasons as to why studying at home is much more efficient then studying in college.

Reason 1: Free food. At home if you're studying and you start to feel a bit peckish you can just go to the kitchen and get yourself a snack and for how much you ask? For free, where as in college if you want to get food not only do you have to go find the nearest shop but you have to spend most of the money you always say you're "saving for a rainy day" on food that isn't even that nice!

  

Reason 2: Sleep. When you're studying in college do you ever just think to yourself "Man I would love to go for a nap right now"? And then you realise you can't because you're afraid that your spot in the library will be taken or worse, the college could close with you still sleeping there and you get locked in. Well at home if you ever are feeling the need to catch some Zs you can and all you have to do is just get up from your work and go take a nap without having to worry about your spot being taken or being locked into the college overnight.

Reason 3: Talking. You can talk as much as you like without being shushed by anyone around you or by the cranky librarian. Don't you just hate when people tell you to "pipe down" or "quit your chit-chat?" Well at home you can talk as much you like without being given out to.

Reason 4: Public Transport. Like most students including myself  to get to college we must use public transportation such as the bus, the train, the luas etc. and we all know how expensive public transportation is. If you choose to study in college not only will you be spending money to get to the college you will also have to wait on a crowded bus or train and pray to god that there is a free seat in the library otherwise your trip was a waste of time and money. But if you choose to study at home not only do you save money and a journey but you can be guaranteed that you will have a place to study.

Reason 5: Getting up early. Unfortunately most people have to endure getting up early for college (although we should really be used to it by now considering we used to have to get up early for school), in regards to study if you choose to study in college you may have to get up earlier to get a good spot for your study but if you study at home you can get up at any time you like (unless you are one of those people who likes to get up early and do their study)

Reason 6: Having different lecturers each semester. As the year goes on you will most likely have a different lecture each semester, this means that you will have different work and you will have to learn their methods if they teach differently to your old lecturer. For those of you who decide to actually study throughout college you may find this difficult studying at home or in college.

Reason 7: No distraction of others. I know that library's are supposed to be quiet but you always have that one distracting person who is tapping the table or playing their music so loud you can hear it through their earphones and it's so distracting that you can't focus on your own work. If you study at home you have no distraction of others around you and you can just pick a nice, quiet room in your house and study there in peace but in college there's only one room so unfortunately you will have to put up with the distracting people if you choose the college to study.

  

Reason 8: Free Tea. What more is there to say you get free tea at home and I know that this relates back to my first reason about free food but come on who doesn't love tea I mean we are Irish it's in our nature to love tea!

Reason 9: Comfort. Studying in college is not very comfortable you're mainly sitting on hard chairs or if your lucky comfy chairs for hours on end were as at home you can be studying in bed or you can be studying at the kitchen table with a nice fluffy pillow propped up behind your head.

Reason 10: Staying up late for study. As you know most colleges close early and therefore you can't study late but at home you can study as late as you want.

Yet, there is a simpler way. The greatest problem that most people face is that they fail to set their goals the right way. And once they do set their goals, their approach is all wrong. 6. Education produces good citizens: Education also produce well-cultured and wise men. It is often said that the children of today are the citizens of tomorrow. If children of today study hard to become good students, then they will surely become good citizens in future. It is not easy to measure the loss which the human race has suffered on account of want of education by men and women who had exceptional talent but could not make full use of it.

Illiterate Adults can join part-time courses to learn reading and writing. They can also develop skills in a particular trade by enrolling himself in a Vocational and Technical Education (VTE) institute.

I believe that education should be a free right we enjoy in life– just like we do with happiness and love. Education is essential for our life as well as oxygen and we don’t get charged for oxygen. Various people say that money equals happiness but others say that education leads to happiness. Without an education you won’t be able to produce money and for some people that equals misery.

Paying to receive schooling and benefit our country is not what I believe in, but I do believe that to be successful in life you need that education. Some people don’t have the money to pay for an education or it isn’t offered free where they live. We spend money on clothes, food, shelter, and various other things; why can’t education be one of the priceless things in life.

Most of us when, we were innocent children, thought of the many ways could that we can do to aid our country which didn’t seem unattainable for us in that moment in time. I on the other hand still preserve a part of that idea and wish that others would see the significance of learning. If we are denied the opportunity to prosper even when we are young; and the circumstances don’t permit us to receive an education our self perseverance will start going to decrease steadily.

We should have the right to enjoy the benefit of learning how to write, solve algebraic problems that in the future could help our country. I believe that education should be free to all.
